Welcome to Seekonk Meadows, a recovered natural setting that overlies an existing landfill and provides passive recreation opportunities and environmental education. Its use is governed by the Department of Environmental Protection's 310 CMR 19.000. The landfill is sealed by a rubber membrane and vented pipes. The site was the town dump, active until the 1970s, and then left abandoned for decade. In early 2008, work began to transform the none acres into Seekonk first community gathering space.
Two miles of trails are available for easy walking in this quiet and natural setting. The Meadows provide access to the Gammino Pond conservation area, a sixty-acre property that includes a five-acre pond.
Passive recreation activities are allowed in the Meadows that do not endanger the capped landfill and respect other users. Passive recreational activities include: walking, running, wildlife observation, and snowshoeing. Pets on a leash are welcome.

Seekonk Meadows in open from dawn to dusk. The following are prohibited:
- Motorized vehicles, horses, or bicycles
- Hunting or trapping
- Camping or open fires
- Climbing on gas vents
- Digging not authorized by the DPW
- Littering
- Alcoholic beverages
- Collecting flowers or plants
